Professional Background

Hello and welcome to Peace Lily Path! My name is Faye and I am thrilled to be walking alongside you through this therapeutic journey. While I am not from Antigonish originally, I have lived here for the past 13 years and would call Antigonish “home”.

I have had the opportunity to work with children, youth and adults in many different environments throughout my career. This has included working in the non-profit sphere, volunteering with a variety of different organizations as well as working within a private practice environment as a clinical social worker.

I believe in a holistic, trauma informed approach when working with folks, everyone comes with their own unique story and experience. Supporting folks to better understand their nervous system, their nervous system responses and regulation strategies are an important part of the work that I believe in. I believe that there is always a root to our struggles, and supporting folks to better understand this is a key part of the journey. As each individual will come with their own experience of the world and their own struggles, I believe that using an eclectic mix of modalities and interventions is best, which includes using knowledge and skills pulled from attachment theories and interventions, Acceptance Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Mindfulness based approaches.
